He said, “As the new Head of Pastoral Care here at Peace Care, I hope to provide the liminal presence as a witness, counsellor, and spiritual director or guide for those walking through life.” He continued, “When patients, residents, or team members are living through and walking through a ‘dark valley, ‘ I hope to be a stable presence that they can look to for solidarity, prayer, and guidance.” He also said, “And with those who are in greener pastures – for whom there is abundant hope and promise of recovery, who have the courage and spiritual strength to keep on ‘fighting the good fight, ‘ I serve as their ‘spiritual cheerleader’ to make sure they feel supported in prayer and hope.”
In addition, having served in multiple leadership positions in music, Chaplain Lopez offers a complete music ministry to Peace Care residents. He will be bringing a variety of musicians and singers from diverse backgrounds from across the region to play sacred and secular music for Peace Care residents.
