Residents Non-Discrimination Policy

Policy:

All residents will be treated equally regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture, language, physical or mental disability, socioeconomic status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

Policy Explanation and Compliance Guidelines:

  1. All residents, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture, language, physical or mental disability, socioeconomic status, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression, have rights guaranteed to them under Federal and State laws and regulations.
  2. Policies and procedures for respecting and supporting resident rights are identical for all residents, regardless of the characteristics listed above.
  3. This facility provides equal access to quality of care regardless of diagnosis, severity of condition, or payment source.
  4. Education regarding resident rights will include the responsibility to treat all residents equally.
  5. The facility will provide services to residents according to residents’ individual needs and preferences, as determined by assessments and care plans.
  6. Violations of this policy or any other resident rights policy will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
  7. Staff and volunteers will interact with residents in a manner that takes into account the physical limitations of the resident, assures communication and maintains respect.

The Administrator is the Compliance Officer of each community.
