Peace Care partners with healthcare providers across Jersey City and Hudson County to improve health outcomes for its residents. Our rehab centers consistently outperform both state and national benchmarks, reflecting our commitment to clinical excellence.
Through strong collaboration with hospitals and community health partners, we help residents recover and successfully transition back to the community whenever possible.
As the only faith-based, nonprofit skilled nursing communities in Hudson County, we are honored that our long-term care residents call Peace Care home. We care for the whole person—addressing physical, social, and spiritual needs—while promoting dignity, independence, and the highest possible quality of life.
I was born and raised in Jersey City, and I first connected with Peace Care nearly 20 years ago when a friend’s mother was a resident. I visited often and always remembered the warm, welcoming feeling.
Years later, when my own mom needed more care, our family toured the community and quickly knew Peace Care was the right place for her. My mom was a resident for nearly five years, and during that time our entire family experienced the compassion, kindness, and sense of community that make Peace Care so special. There was always something happening—holiday celebrations, special events, and programs that brought joy to both residents and their families. We always looked forward to visiting because it truly felt like home.
My mom was a woman of faith, and being able to attend Mass regularly and continue to nurture her spirit brought her comfort in her final years.
The love and care shown to my mother were a tremendous blessing to her and to our entire family. Even today, I continue to return to and stay connected with Peace Care because I believe in the mission. I will always be grateful for the love and care Peace Care showed my mom.
A PLACE OF SPIRITUAL FULFILLMENT
Two Chapels, Mass and Pastoral Visits multiple times per week, full-time Chaplain, Rosary Prayer, Communion, Religious Holidays, Special Days, Feasts, Founders’ Day, Blessing of Hands Ceremonies and Observances.
MISSION ALIVE! Peace Care team members participate every year — 50 team members took part in work groups comprising 9 sessions this year. Led by Peace Ministries, this is a formation process designed to deepen commitment to our mission and to the core values of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace (CSJP).

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace founded Peace Care with a mission to provide compassionate healthcare services to those most vulnerable and poor in our community. Today, Peace Care remains deeply committed to this mission, offering person-centered care to each resident.
In 2025, over 60% of our residents were covered by Medicaid. More than ever, Medicaid and other payors continue to reimburse significantly less than the actual cost of care. We bridged this gap in part with the generosity of donors.
